Mariana Trench
There is very deep place on our planet which is called MARIANA TRENCH.
As Mount Everest is the highest place on earth , Mariana Trench is the deepest place on earth.
Mariana Trench is located at pacific ocean of the mariana islands. Maximum depth of mariana
trench is 10,994 meters.
At 10.994 meters there is a small slot-shaped valley known as CHALLENGER DEEP.
At the bottom of mariana trench the water
column above exert pressure is 1086 bars which is 1000 times the standard atmosphere pressure at sea level.
The challengers of Mariana Trench.
Challengers are thoes who discovered different depths in mariana trench.
- In 1875 Challenger 1 was first to sounded to measure the depth of mariana trench.
He used weighted rope to measure the depth.
He measured the depth of 8,184 meters .
- In 1951 Challenger 2 measured the depth of meriana trench. He used echo sounding which was more precise & vastly easier way to measure depth.

- In 1984 depth of 10,924 was reported by Japanese survey vessel. They used narrow multi beam echo sounder.
Like this many challenger reported different types of depth. Last depth was 10,984 meter which was recorded in 2010.
New Creatures / Species found in Mariana Trench.
1) THE GHOST FISH .
The ghost fish was found in meriana trench in depth of 8,202 feets. The fish was founded in December 2014 by biologist from United kingdom.
2) THE BARRELEYE FISH / SPOOK FISH.
Barreleye fish is also know as spook fish. This fish was found in depth of pacific Atlantic & Indian ocean, including locales in Mariana Trench.
3) THE DUMBO OCTOPUS .
Grimpoteuthis also called dumbo octopus.
All species live at the depth of 3000-4000 meters. And some also live at the depth of 7000 meters .
4) THE GOBLIN / VAMPIRE SHARK.
Goblin shark is rare species of deep-sea sharks.Some times called a Living fossil.
5) GIANT TOXIC AMOEBOS.
Creature of very deep sea; giant are discovered 6.6 miles down in pacific sea of trench and discovered in the deepest part of ocean.
